Identify both parties
Include the business and customer names plus the contact or address details appropriate to the transaction.
Give the document a unique reference
Use an invoice number and issue date that fit your own recordkeeping sequence.
Describe each charge
List clear descriptions, quantities or units, unit prices, and line totals so the customer can reconcile the work.
State totals and payment terms
Show discount and tax separately, give a due date or terms, and provide usable payment instructions outside sensitive public notes.
Check jurisdiction-specific identity fields
Some jurisdictions or customer procurement systems require a registered business name, tax identifier, registration number, supply date, purchase-order reference, tax breakdown, or prescribed wording. A general browser template cannot determine which rules apply. Confirm requirements with the relevant authority or qualified adviser before issuing the document, especially for cross-border work or regulated goods. Keep bank credentials and other sensitive payment instructions in an approved secure channel when a recipient does not need them printed on every copy.
Keep an editable record beside the PDF
Review the on-screen parties, dates, line descriptions, quantities, rates, bases, and total before opening print. The browser print dialog can save the isolated preview as PDF, but success depends on the chosen printer settings and does not archive source data. Download the local JSON if you need an editable snapshot, then store both files under your own retention and backup policy. The optional logo is a temporary local preview object and is not embedded in that JSON, so retain the original image separately.
